Meet the RMTs

  • Director & RMT

Having grown up in Kitimat BC, I was influenced by the towns natural surroundings and was instilled with the core values of community, innovation, and respect for all people.

Active in sports and interested in health, I completed the 3000 hours Massage Therapy program at West Coast College of Massage Therapy (in 2008) and have been a practicing RMT in good standing for over a decade! I have also taken several continuing education courses in remedial exercise and chronic pain management.

I have been fortunate to work with a wide variety of patients over the years, including people recovering from accidents or injuries to providing pre & post-natal care. I love that Massage Therapy can offer a safe space for individuals to address their health concerns and can often improve their quality of life and am extremely enthusiastic about sharing my passion for Massage Therapy with all my clients.

In my free time you can find me exploring the outdoors with family and friends.

I graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s (WCCMT) New Westminster campus in December of 2020. Through WCCMT’s program, I gained experience with pre- and post-natal clients, and spinal cord injuries, alongside various musculoskeletal disorders, and injuries. I am beyond excited to help my clients get a head start on rehabilitation! I believe that healing is a team-based approach, between a therapist and client, and I look forward to working with you to achieve your therapy goals.

Being an avid hiker and athlete, I understand the challenges and pain that clients face on a day-to-day and adventure-to-adventure basis. I have strong passion for learning and am always ready for spontaneous backpacking trips! When I’m not planning my next adventure, I can be found reading, sewing, painting, and researching to constantly improve my massage therapy knowledge. My intent is to work in tandem with my clients to ensure that they can maintain, or return to the lifestyle they love - whether that be weekend escapes, enjoying quality time with family, achieving a pain-free workday, or cozying up alone with a good book (or Netflix series).

After much deliberation, I decided massage therapy would be the perfect career for me to pursue. In seeing the benefits of massage therapy on my own injuries, I realized helping others out of their pain highly complimented my own strengths and values - making it a no-brainer that massage therapy was the right path for me! I attended the West Coast College of Massage Therapy's 20-month long program and then completed my CMTBC board exams. As a therapist, I believe in empowering my patients by providing them with knowledge of their own body, while still delivering a hands-on treatment catered to their specific needs using clear communication. I hope to bring a positive energy to an already positive environment.

I Graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 1999.

I started out in Gymnastics, where I spent 15 years, and made it to the National Level.

Throughout this time, I personally experienced the benefits of massage therapy as an athlete and this sparked my interest into health, wellness, and prevention. Using a holistic approach, I have worked with clients for the last 24 years as a massage therapist. Massage helped me recover from my injuries in my gymnastic career and now I get to help people recover from their injuries today!

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and planning our next Disney Adventure.

I graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2021. Before that, I attended Holy Cross Regional High School.

My passion for sports started very early in my life and continued throughout my high school years. I was introduced to registered massage therapy through dealing with my own sports related injuries. My own experience working with a Massage therapist helped me understand the great effects that registered massage therapy has on the body both physically and mentally.

I have been fortunate to have worked with a variety of patients, ranging from professional athletes to patients who need general pain management, since joining the Body Mechanics team. My passion for creating new therapeutic relationships is fuelled by seeing my patients get better. I love that massage therapy can provide a safe space for people to escape the stress of life and the tension and pain that comes with it. I am excited to keep helping my patients reach their health goals.

Outside of my practice I love to go to the gym, try new restaurants, and also spend time with my family and friends.

I am a Registered Massage Therapist with a passion for treating individuals who have experienced acute injuries, helping athletes from all sports backgrounds, and helping patients manage their chronic pain. With over 4 years of experience in the field, I have honed my skills and developed a deep understanding of the body's response to therapeutic touch.

In my practice, I adhere to the biopsychosocial model of pain, which recognizes that pain is not just a physical sensation but is also influenced by psychological and social factors. My personalized approach to each treatment session combines my extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology with a compassionate and intuitive touch. I excel at deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, and trigger point therapy. I am also certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation.

In addition to my private practice, I work with the North Delta Rugby Club to help athletes on and off the field. As a graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, I have received comprehensive training in a range of massage techniques. I am dedicated to ongoing professional development and training to ensure that I am providing the highest level of care to his patients.

My approach to Massage Therapy is based on the tenets of open-mindedness, determination, and having a receptive nature. My professional focus is to deliver safe, effective treatments with not only the skills I have, but to commit to develop and refine new skills for the benefit of my patients.

I graduated from WCCMT in 2014. Because I came to the Massage Therapy profession later in life and am raising a small family of my own, I understand the demands and sacrifices an individual faces in these modern times.

I believe that Massage Therapy is an effective vehicle that allows the human body the opportunity to heal itself. There is no massage ‘recipe’ - each individual, each treatment will require a differing mix of skills, techniques and approaches.

My massage style is European-based and focused on providing a safe, positive environment for my patients. In effect, I believe each treatment is sacred and needs to be treated with the utmost respect.

But, I’m not TOO serious - in my down time I plays video games and love the 3 Bs: Beer, Bacon and Bocce.

I grew up in North Delta where I participated in a range of sports and activities. This included dance, figure skating, swimming, and, most predominantly, soccer. I feel very lucky to be back working in such a wonderful community while being able to help its members get back to feeling their best.

Over the years my love of sports further evolved into an interest of learning about health and wellness, which led me to a career as an RMT. I finished my RMT schooling at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2017 and have now been practicing for over 5 years. I've gained experience in treating a variety of conditions including: repetitive strain injuries, postural dysfunctions, sports injuries, nerve impingements, headaches, stress, anxiety, and pregnancy. I'm beginning to take a particular interest in treating women throughout their pregnancy. It's wonderful to see what a supportive role massage therapy can play throughout making their journey as comfortable as possible. To deepen my knowledge surrounding pregnancy, I have taken continuing education courses to be able to provide a safe and comfortable environment for any concerns you'd like to address.

Keeping patient-centred care at the forefront of my treatments, you'll find I include a mix of restorative and relaxing techniques with the use of deep tissue massage where indicated. I also include a combination of different modalities best suited for each individual such as: Swedish massage, trigger point release, joint mobilizations, myofascial release and remedial exercise.

Outside of work you can find me out with my dog, on the ski hill, out on the soccer field, practicing yoga, or enjoying a good cup of coffee!

To achieve my treatment goals, I enjoy using a variety of techniques such as passive range of motion, pin & stretch, trigger point release, and swedish massage.

What keeps me motivated is being able to contribute my knowledge to help and educate others work towards achieving a healthy and pain-free lifestyle where they can live and move in confidence!

Whether you are seeking rehabilitative work or simply needing maintanence work, I have the knowledge and skills to help you achieve your therapeutic goals.

In order to strive in his career, I dedicate my time in the gym to maintain my health and strength. You’ll also find me drinking bubbletea and having good laughs with my friends and family.
